For over a year I've heard the benefits of a good's night sleep and weight loss. I must confess I haven't experienced either on a regular basis. I wonder how much weight Rip VanWinkle lost? I tried doing the couch potato thing- isn't that the equivalent of sleep? But that definitely doesn't work.
Almost 6 years ago, Hubby and I purchased our wonderful pillow-top mattress. It was a gift to ourselves since we moved and we didn't move our previous (very old) mattress. Plus we decided we wanted a king-size bed vs. the queen. We loved our pillow top until that fateful day we had to flip it. You see, there is no pillow-bottom! So for the past 6 years we have rotated our pillow-top half-degrees. Last week, I called a halt to the rotating. We were going to have to flip that baby! So flip it we did. And yes, it is firm...so firm it's like sleeping on only the box springs!! I was complaining to a co-worker about our pillow top not having a pillow bottom too. She smugly replied, I have a "season" mattress! Okay she didn't say it smugly but I was thinking...now why didn't I think of that! It is satin on one side and flannel on the other side. Hubby would hate it and quite frankly with the menopause and everything...I'd hate it too!
Two nights ago, I could have sworn I'd have lost at least 4 pounds with all the tossing and turning I did. Even the cat didn't want to sleep with us that night for fear of getting pounced on instead of being the pouncer. I stepped on Kaa (my ss-scale) in the morning and no amazing loss there. One grainiac recommended taking a baby benedryl to help sleep and I am heading out to Wal-Mart to pick up a box. Hopefully the pharmacist does not have to regulate them. Please people....stop making drugs with the over-the-counter drugs. You are playing havoc with my convenience and I'm losing sleep over it!!
Have a restful Wednesday today, Grainiacs.
