It is a cool 55* degrees this morning in Rural America, Grainiacs. And I LOVE it!!! A pastor friend posted on his facebook page that he went for a quick little 15 mile sprint this morning. I couldn't help myself. I commented that my idea of a quick little sprint is to the bathroom. Sheesh, 15 miles!!! What a show-off!
I have been suffering from sinus ache or headache; I can't quite tell what it is but yesterday after church I basically lounged on the couch and watched the Hallmark Channel! I didn't have any bon-bons in the house or they would have been consumed. It was a lazy day. And really, Hallmark Channel provided the perfect feel-good movies for me.
I think I've mentioned before how vital taking a sabbath is for good mental health and it gives the body a chance to recoup from all the weekly stresses. Stress=bad; sabbath=good. So instead of saying I was lazy, I will call it sabbath. There is a story about a Harvard president who was in go-go-go mode when finally his body demanded rest. He had to take a three-month "sabbatical." We do not want to get to that point, right? So take some time for quiet-- whether it is taking a much deserved nap or sitting quietly watching the Hallmark channel or even taking a nice "quick little sprint." And it doesn't have to be on a Sunday or for a whole day. Sabbath does not mean being a slug for slug's sake; it is intentional resting.
I plan to schedule a sabbath after work today. I feel like cooking. Funny story: I had to smile last night when Boy asked Hubby, "what's for dinner?" Don't you love it? Gender roles do NOT apply in this house. Of course no one cleans so that might be the cause of my headaches!?! LOL Maybe it's attack the dust bunnies time. Speaking of that, JR (my jack rabbit) is gone. I wasn't able to get a picture of him/her.
Remember to take time for yourselves, Grainiacs, and please take care of yourselves for slug sake!
