Last night I stayed up till after midnight watching a goofy sitcom called "Psych!" The lead actor is similar in goofy-ness to early flicks of Ace Ventura (Jim Carrey) but not quite as hooked on steroids (if that makes sense!). Give me a break: I just turned in my final paper for class and my brain is still in shock- is the paper "A" worthy or a piece of crap that will line her parrot cage?
Back to the original story.... while waiting for 11 p.m. (the time the network replays the new episode...thank you, USA network, for realizing not everyone owns a DVR!) Hubby and I got into a Batman marathon on another channel. In this Batman movie, Michael Keaton is Batman and Michelle Pfeiffer is Cat Woman. Since it was filmed in 1992 I'm giving away some details (don't blame me, you've had plenty of time to see it if you wanted!)....so spoiler alert!!!!!
The mousy human female (Pfeiffer) is pushed out a window and falls to her death or is she just stunned? Any who, she is flat on her back in the alley and cats from e.v.e.r.y.w.h.e.r.e. flock around her and....give her life? Maybe they share one of their nine lives with her? One cat in particular starts nibbling on her fingers. There is blood. There are teeth. Her eyes shoot to the back of her head. Her head starts convulsing. You gotta love Hollywood and comics! Next thing you know she is up and making herself a cat costume.
Why do I mention this, you ask? When my kids were younger, we limited influential movies and/or TV shows. We stopped watching certain questionable shows all together when the eldest started repeating some very choice words. What did she just say?????
This morning at 6 a.m. (after about 5 hours of sleep and a goofy episode of Psych and a dark movie of Batman--- I mean this movie is really dark) I felt a rough tongue licking my fingers. Chomp. A little nibble. My eyes didn't shoot to the back of my head; no, they shot WIDE OPEN!!!
Uh oh!!!! Looks like we will have to limit TV again.
Who knew cats were impressionable too? Note to self: no TV shows where cats rule the world or bite owners while they sleep.
